Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley

Happy Tuesday!!!
Stuck in a colorless world, Tyra Masters decides to chuck her old life and starts searching for something. She doesn’t know what it is until she meets her dream man. The goateed, tattooed, muscled, gravelly voiced motorcycle man who plies her with tequila and gives her the best sex of her life. But she knows it isn’t the tequila and sex talking. He’s it. He’s who she’s been daydreaming about since she could remember.

Until he makes it clear she isn’t who he’s looking for.

Tyra slinks away from his bed, humiliated. The problem is, he’s her new boss. She just may or may not have forgotten to tell him that part.

Kane “Tack” Allen has a rule. He doesn’t employ someone he’s slept with. And he lets Tyra know that in his motorcycle man way. Tyra fights for her job and wins it using sass and a technicality. Tack challenges her that if she hits his bed one more time, she loses her job.

Tyra is determined to keep her job and keep away from Tack. But she makes a big mistake. During their head-to-heads, she lets it all hang out and shows Tack she is who he’s looking for. And Tack has had a good woman slip through his fingers, he’s not about to let that happen again.

Although Tack colors Tyra’s world with a vibrancy that’s blinding, being with him means she has to live in his Motorcycle Club world. Full on, no holds barred. And since Tack’s world, not to mention Tack, is a little scary, Tyra isn’t so sure.

It's Tack's job to convince her.
Holy Smokes...this book was soo hot!  It is the fourth in Kristen Ashley's Dream Man series. I did not read books 2 or 3..I wanted to get straight to this one after Mystery Man (book 1). Kane/Tack is a man who is who he is. A motorcycle man trying to keep his motorcycle club on the legal side..well mostly.  He's also a father, an ex-husband, and now a boss and lover of Tyra's.  The writing of how Tyra falls for Tack and how she evolves is truly great reading. She is set in her ways..afraid to try for more..but Tack brings out her curiosity by his words and pancakes. He is rough, but so gentle and caring of her. He brings out the color in her gray life. Her attitude doesn't discourage him at all...it makes her even more attractive to him. She is sassy and a smartass. And it just encourages him more! I just loved that! How he would do just about anything to take care of her. To make her his woman.
The others from the rest of this series also make appearances.
This book was romantic, and fun and very steamy. I was so sad to see it end. But The Chaos saga continues...and I will be reading them!

Back to Basics by Erin McCarthy

Book Blurb:
Angel Weiss can’t believe that her old friend Brian has stood her up at their wedding, for a stripper no less, ruining her plans to collect on some old college bet money. If you can’t trust a man to follow through on a fake wedding, who can you trust? So maybe she is a little uptight and suppressed, as Brian points out, but after watching her father run through six wives, she can’t help but be a little bit of a control freak. Who never intends to get married for real.

Rick Dengler did the marriage thing and the only good thing that came out of it was his daughter. Otherwise, it just left him broke and disillusioned. So he isn’t looking for anything but illegal campers when he’s doing rounds through the park on his job as a ranger. What he finds is a sexy blonde in heels frozen in the path of a black bear.

Which leads to them both covered in poison ivy. Which leads to stripping down to what nature intended in a heart shaped hot tub. Which leads Angel and Rick to conclude that maybe they’re not out of the woods yet when it comes to falling in love with a person all wrong for you…

Oh my Goodness...this book was soo much fun to read..It had me laughing right out loud! Angel's bad luck with the great outdoors was so funny...first the bear, then the poison ivy...and. all of the taxidermy in her honeymoon cabin...I couldn't stop laughing. I could just envision Angel running through the woods in her wedding dress and heels trying to get away from the bear. And poor Ranger Rick...trying to save her!
The chemistry between Ranger Rick and Angel was so hot. Who knew that putting anti-itch lotion on could be used as foreplay???
I would love to see how they are doing now...did Angel win the bet then? Did she get to adopt her baby that she wanted? Did Rick get to have more time with his daughter? Did Brian really marry his stripper? Things that will have me thinking about this book in the future. :)
I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a good, funny, heart warming story. It'll bring up your spirits and have you hoping that you could run into a Ranger Rick of your own!

Dip & Devour by Mary Kate Kopec

Back Blurb:
      He knows better....
Hard working, crime busting, undercover FBI guy Jake Davidson has been burnt by love before. No way is he falling for a suspect, again! No matter how much Wham! she has.
       She's learned her lesson...
Over achieving, exhibit blazing, museum curator Kia Everet has played the love game and paid the price. No way is she falling for a co-worker's charms, again! No matter how delectably sexy he is.
But chocolate covered temptation can be rough to resist...
If only Jake would stop fondling her hair, feeding her chocolate, devouring her with his Caribbean blue eyes, and leaving her stunned speechless with kisses that knock her summer sandals right off! If only Kia didn't keep hitting him with the firecracker wit, shoulder-baring nibble tempting sundresses, and legs that just won't stop. They've got it bad for each other, and they're ready to give in.  If only it weren't for a missing locket.
Jake's a chocolate charmer, and Kia's decadence in a sundress. Too bad she doesn't date the help, and worse that he's here to catch her in the act. But it won't be easy denying all that heat, chemistry, and desire. The food's too good. The timing's just right. and with a little loving push from a grandmother who's a miracle in the kitchen....          LOVE NEVER TASTED SO GOOD!
This book is chocolate covered mind candy. Sweet, mood altering goodness. A first person story from both points of view. Every other chapter is either Kia's side or Jake's side. A very interesting way to see how both perspectives are seen!  This story has both the highs and the lows...it had me smiling and tearing up!  When Kia is arrested and Jake is the one putting the handcuffs on her I felt so bad for Kia. Her world was crashing down around her and Jake wasn't doing much better. Caught in the middle between the feelings he had for Kia and doing what his boss was telling him to do. No amount of chocolate could help either one of them. Both of their hearts broken.
This was a YUMMY book and a really good romance!

Lord of Devil Isle by Connie Mason

This story begins in 1775 Bermuda, formerly known as Devil Isle.

The Lord of Devil Isle is also known as Nicholas Scott, captain of the Susan Bell sailing ship. He is having his wicked way with his Mistress of the moment, until news of a shipwreck off the coast of Devil Isle. The Mistress can wait..the plundering of the wreck can't! That's the plan anyway until he sees three women struggling to stay afloat with a shark circling. He jumps in and ends up with the three Ladies under is roof and under his protection.

Eve Upshall needs to keep her secrets and get to the Americas. She, and the other two women were "rescued" from their former lives and are being transported to America to be married to three respectable men in the Americas. Eve sees it as an opportunity not to be married but to find her long lost uncle. Hoping that he will protect her.

But Captain Nick won't allow the women to leave..They will be able to find respectable men right there on the island to marry...but not Eve. He wants Eve at his beck and call. But she won't be his mistress..no matter how far she falls under his spell...and into his bed.

I'm not always a big fan of historical romance but this one was a really good one. Nick was such a good guy who didn't think that he deserved to love or to be loved, but he couldn't stop the need with Eve.

Eve had secrets that she's afraid will come out and will ruin her..but she can's stop herself from falling in love with Nick. The chemistry was so good between the two of them. The secrets that they each have are so crippling to themselves but watching as they overcome them was really great. It left me happy to witness the "happily ever after" of the story!
