Back to Basics by Erin McCarthy

Book Blurb:
Angel Weiss can’t believe that her old friend Brian has stood her up at their wedding, for a stripper no less, ruining her plans to collect on some old college bet money. If you can’t trust a man to follow through on a fake wedding, who can you trust? So maybe she is a little uptight and suppressed, as Brian points out, but after watching her father run through six wives, she can’t help but be a little bit of a control freak. Who never intends to get married for real.

Rick Dengler did the marriage thing and the only good thing that came out of it was his daughter. Otherwise, it just left him broke and disillusioned. So he isn’t looking for anything but illegal campers when he’s doing rounds through the park on his job as a ranger. What he finds is a sexy blonde in heels frozen in the path of a black bear.

Which leads to them both covered in poison ivy. Which leads to stripping down to what nature intended in a heart shaped hot tub. Which leads Angel and Rick to conclude that maybe they’re not out of the woods yet when it comes to falling in love with a person all wrong for you…

Oh my Goodness...this book was soo much fun to read..It had me laughing right out loud! Angel's bad luck with the great outdoors was so funny...first the bear, then the poison ivy...and. all of the taxidermy in her honeymoon cabin...I couldn't stop laughing. I could just envision Angel running through the woods in her wedding dress and heels trying to get away from the bear. And poor Ranger Rick...trying to save her!
The chemistry between Ranger Rick and Angel was so hot. Who knew that putting anti-itch lotion on could be used as foreplay???
I would love to see how they are doing now...did Angel win the bet then? Did she get to adopt her baby that she wanted? Did Rick get to have more time with his daughter? Did Brian really marry his stripper? Things that will have me thinking about this book in the future. :)
I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a good, funny, heart warming story. It'll bring up your spirits and have you hoping that you could run into a Ranger Rick of your own!

Mistletoe Kisses with the Billionaire by Shirley Jump

Grace McKinnan has been seeing the world and reporting on fabulous vacation destinations for quite some time--but something has changed- ever since meeting a young girl in Russia, and seeing how this girl lives in poverty, her articles about the good life just aren't enough for Grace. And her magazine editor has noticed too. He puts her on leave. Luckily a well timed invitation and plane ticket arrive to take her home to Beckett's Run. Maybe this is what she needs to readjust.

It also lands her right back in JC Carson's life...whether he likes it or not!

JC isn't the fun loving man he once was.... life has pushed and pulled him to step into his father's shoes...shoes he wasn't sure he wanted to fill.

Misunderstandings and JC's meddling father tore Grace and JC apart..but maybe the holiday season and Beckett's Run's festival can bring some spirit and a Christmas miracle to these two lovers.

What's not to like about a story of love reunited at Christmas? How Grace and JC find their way back to each other after years of being apart.  I loved how JC has two sides to him..the fun loving one and the one that does things that have to be done..no matter what. Grace I wasn't too sure on..I was afraid that she was going to sacrifice her life with JC for her career..but she was more than I had thought. I'm glad that all of the misunderstandings came to light and that they handled things the way that they did!
Definitely a great quick Christmas read! :)

Jordan by Lori Foster

Back Blurb:  Jordan Sommerville was a healer of helpless animals, rescuer of strays, a man who cold seduce a woman with his voice alone. Yet he didn't use that power often. His brothers kidded that he was holding out for a paragon of virtue and not many in Buckhorn qualified. But then he met Georgia, and broke all of his own rules.
Georgia Barnes supported herself and her kids as a dancer- an exotic dancer. If Jordan Sommerville didn't like it, he could take a hike. So what if he was the most caring, gentle, desirable man she'd ever know- he was stall a man like all the rest. Surely he couldn't be as perfect as he looked...or could he?

This is my busy time of year..what with all of the holiday prep and filling orders for my crafts..so when I find myself with a couple of minutes I like to grab a Harlequin. The good ones read fast and I can kind of accomplish two things at once..enjoy a story and keep crafting.
I grabbed Jordan's Story this time.  I loved all the brothers in the Buckhorn Brothers series, but Jordan especially. He was struck by Georgia when he first walked into the bar and saw her dancing. Then they were both arrested after the fight broke out and they were alone in the back of a squad car. He just couldn't wrap his head around the idea of her or his need to take care of her. And she needed someone to help her to take care of things. Her mother becomes seriously ill, leaving Georgia without childcare and emotional support. A perfect opportunity for Jordan to step in.
My copy of this book is an original one..it has been re-released under the name Forever Buckhorn and it is Gabe and Jordan's stories combined. A great read!
